All About Ford’s First EV Vehicle: The Mustang Mach-E!

February 17th, 2021 by

The Ford Mustang Mach-E, the all-new battery-electric crossover SUV, notably doesn’t hold the pony Mustang’s notoriety but instead is in a new class of its own. Though nothing like the traditional Mustang, the Mach-E is a step into the future of the iconic 118-year-old American auto manufacturer.

The sleek, five-seat newcomer successfully transfers the Mustang’s magic to the vehicle that launches Ford’s transition to electric power. The all-new battery-powered Mach-E has everything consumers will ask for: Easy to operate, plenty of space, up to 300 miles range on a charge, and no noticeable glitches to alienate EV skeptics.

Able and Responsive in Traffic

The Mustang Mach-E has far more passenger and cargo space than the coupe. The advanced features are incredibly intuitive, including an app to help drivers plan their stops to charge stations on road trips. Standard safety features include blind-spot and cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, speed limit sign recognition, automatic high beams, automatic front braking, collision alert, automatic rear, lane-keeping alert, and assist, and post-collision braking.

New Tech, Familiar Feel

Acceleration of extended-range all-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E Premium is something that people are buzzing about. Ford claims 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds, which is insanely impressive. The interior is roomy, sporty, and straightforward. Its streamlined dashboard hosts a digital gauge cluster dominated by a large vertically mounted touchscreen that resembles a smart tablet.

It includes a floating armrest on the center console, allowing space for a purse or other items to be stored between the front-seat passengers. Many slick features including customizable interior lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The front trunk is made of durable materials, which allows for easy clean-up.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Ford’s next-generation infotainment system customizes each driver’s experience. It supports three driver profiles and one guest. The 2021 Mustang Mach-E runs the software through the touchscreen on the dashboard, allowing for easy access to the system’s array of apps and features.

The system’s benefit is that Ford will roll out over-the-air updates over time, continually improving the design and adding new content. Top features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
